E-E-A-T

E-E-A-T stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trust — the framework in Google's quality rater guidelines for judging content credibility. Trust is the central one; the others support it.

It isn't a score in the algorithm. It's what human raters assess, and those assessments inform how systems are trained — which makes it real in effect even though nothing computes an E-E-A-T number.

Practically it comes down to checkable things: named authors with verifiable credentials, an About page that says who runs the business, real contact details, third-party reviews, and claims supported by sources. Sites that get this wrong usually do so by being anonymous rather than by being inaccurate.

Why it matters

For any business where a bad decision costs the reader money, this is the constraint on how far good content alone can take you.
