Cost guide · India · 2026
What a business website, an online store and a web application actually cost to build in India, what moves the price, and the yearly bills most quotes leave out. With our own prices, not a range and a phone number.

Quick answer
A website in India costs whatever its pages, features and integrations add up to, so a fair answer is a set of bands rather than one number. At Mana Studio, a starter site of up to 5 pages is ₹8,000, a business site of up to 15 pages with a page per service and a blog is ₹25,000, and an online store or a site with custom logic such as bookings or member areas starts at ₹60,000. Portals, dashboards and other web applications start at ₹60,000 and are quoted to a written scope. After launch, budget every year for the domain renewal and hosting, plus payment-gateway fees if you sell online. Every price is one-time and fixed before work starts.

Six things. When two quotes for “the same website” are far apart, they are almost always scoping these differently.
A five-page site and a fifteen-page site are different jobs, mostly because of content. A page per service, each written to rank for its own search, takes longer than the design does. If you supply the text, the price drops; if the developer writes it, ask how many pages of copy are included.
A theme with your logo is the cheapest route and often good enough. A custom design costs more because someone has to design and then build every layout. Ask which one a quote is for; two quotes that differ by several times are often this difference and nothing else.
Taking money changes the job. A store needs a catalogue, a cart, UPI and gateway payments (Razorpay, PhonePe), order emails, an order and inventory dashboard and, usually, a delivery-partner integration. That is why e-commerce sits in its own band.
WhatsApp click-to-chat costs nothing. The official WhatsApp Business API, a CRM such as Zoho or HubSpot, Tally, or a booking system each add work, because each has to be connected, tested and kept working when the other system changes.
The moment users log in and see different things (customers, staff, admins), the project is a web application rather than a website, and it is priced to a written scope. Member areas, booking flows and dashboards all fall here.
Some quotes stop at "the site is live". Others include on-page SEO, schema markup, a Google Business Profile and a site tuned to load fast on a phone. The second costs more and is the version that gets found on Google.
The build is a one-time cost. These keep coming, and most quotes do not mention them.
Ask every agency the same six, including us. The answers explain most of the price difference.
Tell us what the site needs to do. We reply with a written scope and one price, usually within a business day.
Build the smallest site that does the job: a few pages, an enquiry form, click-to-call and WhatsApp, and a Google Business Profile. At Mana Studio that is the Starter Site at ₹8,000, live in 5–7 days. A free website builder costs less up front but you rent it forever and rarely own what you built.
A custom online store with a catalogue, cart, UPI and gateway payments and an order dashboard starts at ₹60,000 with us. Larger catalogues or custom checkout logic are quoted to scope. A hosted platform such as Shopify can cost less to start but adds a monthly plan and transaction fees that keep running.
Because they are usually quoting different things. The lowest quotes are often a template with your logo and no written content; the highest include custom design, copywriting, SEO and a long support period. Compare the number of pages, who writes the content, who owns the domain and code, and what support is included before comparing the totals.
The build is one-time. Running it is not: the domain renews every year, hosting is paid monthly or yearly, and an online store pays gateway fees on every sale. Plan for those before you compare quotes.
With us, a Starter Site is live in 5–7 days. Larger sites and stores take longer because of content and products, and web applications get a timeline after scoping.
Often at the start, because themes and plugins save build time. The cost shows up later in plugin updates, security fixes and speed work. A custom Next.js site costs more to build but has far less to maintain. Either can be the right choice; it depends on who will edit the site and how much it needs to do.
No. Every website and web application is quoted as a fixed price for a written scope before any work starts. The price only changes if you add something to the scope.
