My site looks great but performs badly. Redesign or fix?+
Fix, in most Portland cases, and we'll audit before recommending. If the design and brand are strong and the problem is oversized images, a bloated theme and plugin sprawl, a redesign is paying to recreate something that already works. We'd do the performance, mobile and conversion work on what you have. If the underlying platform is genuinely unmaintainable we'll say that instead — but that's the less common case here.
Is SEO worth it when my customers deliberately shop local?+
Yes, because "shopping local" still starts on a phone. Portland customers do prefer independents — but a new resident looking for a local bike shop searches for one, and picks from the map pack. Your existing regulars aren't the market SEO addresses; the people who arrived this year are, and in Portland that's a lot of people.
We want to sell nationally. What breaks first?+
Usually fulfilment and support, not traffic. Brands here commonly get national demand before they have shipping logic, a returns process, subscription handling or any automation on customer questions — and then growth stalls on operations rather than marketing. We'd look at that side before spending anything on acquisition.
Does no sales tax change anything for e-commerce?+
For your Oregon customers it's a modest advantage worth stating plainly. For out-of-state sales it doesn't exempt you from economic-nexus obligations elsewhere, which catch growing brands out — that's a question for your accountant, and we'd wire up whatever tax handling they specify rather than guess at it.
Are you actually based in Portland?+
No — and we say so on the page rather than renting a virtual office address to imply otherwise. Our team is in Hyderabad and Warangal, India, and we work with Portland businesses remotely: video calls, WhatsApp, and a live preview link you can open at any point during the build. What is genuinely local is the work itself — your Google Business Profile, the Portland search terms we target, the competitors we benchmark you against, and the schema that tells Google exactly which area you serve.
How do I pay you from OR?+
Wire or ACH, Zelle, credit card through Stripe, PayPal or Wise — invoiced in USD, with a proper invoice for your accountant. Payment is milestone-based: 40% to begin, the remainder as you approve deliverables. There is no retainer and no minimum contract on the build work.
What are your hours compared to Portland?+
India runs 9.5 to 13.5 hours ahead depending on your time zone and the season, which works in your favour more than against it: work happens while you sleep, and you review it in the morning. Calls are scheduled for your evening, which is our morning. Anything urgent gets a WhatsApp reply the same day.
What if the project goes wrong?+
You own the code, the domain, the hosting account and every asset from the first day — not at handover, from the beginning. If you stop working with us, everything is already yours and there is nothing to extract. The price is agreed in writing before work starts. Websites start at $799.
